This week, lawmakers are considering legislation that, if passed, would give Maryland students more freedom to succeed at the schools of their choice.

We need your help to get it through.

Today, the Maryland House Ways and Means Committee will hear HB 1200, a bill to help school districts and education leaders work together so that the charter school application and review processes produce the best results for our students.

Tell your legislators to support HB 1200 today.

By creating an advisory council to assist local districts with every step of the review process—a process that, without help, can cost districts a lot of extra time and money—HB 1200 would help create an environment that holds all charter schools to high standards and encourages the successful ones to serve even more students. This council of experts would ensure school districts have the resources they need to be successful.

So please take a minute to write your legislators and tell them to give Maryland’s high-performing charter schools and the students they serve the freedom to succeed.

We can’t do this without you.
