About Fiscal Sponsorship

A fiscally sponsored project is the product of an agreement between an established 501(c)(3) public charity and a group interested in soliciting donations and grants but lack their own unique tax-exempt status.

Becoming a fiscally sponsored project with 50CAN, Inc. makes it easier to focus on what matters most - your project. Administrative responsibilities can be burdensome and the experienced team at 50CAN can ensure efficient and accurate workflows to take care of the back office requirements of running a nonprofit organization.

Many funders will not grant funds to start-up organizations with their IRS 501(c)(3) tax status.  By becoming fiscally sponsored under 50CAN, you can avoid this restriction in many cases.  Your donors will benefit from making tax-deductible donations to your project if you use a fiscal sponsor. 50CAN, Inc. is an approved 501(c)(3) organization eligible to accept tax-deductible donations on your behalf.
