Effective principals have an important perspective to offer on what schools need in a district leader.

That’s what I wrote in my op-ed, which was printed in the Baltimore Sun on October 9. The opinion piece calls out the Baltimore City Board of School Commissioners for not actively seeking input from school leaders as they build the profile for the next Baltimore City Schools CEO.

I hope the Board of Commissioners changes their stance and invites principals to voice their opinions as they search for the next leader.

But I will need your help to make sure that happens. So please spread the word and share my op-ed with your family and friends. Also, remember you have until October 15th to fill out the survey and tell the Board what qualities you want to see in the next City Schools CEO.

We’re all here because we believe every child in Maryland can and should get an excellent education. Let’s make sure the next leader of Baltimore City Schools is committed to that belief, too.
