Springfield school gives students career tech options

“Cliff Park is an opportunity for us to really close the gap that exists in the educational world,” says Randy Smoot, the Executive Director for Dropout Recovery. “We are designed for students who have either disengaged in high school, dropped out of high school, or are at risk of dropping out of high school.”

With opportunities in business, healthcare, advanced manufacturing, and construction, the school’s career tech programs put students on the cutting edge.

“There’s a misconception that they’re here because it’s a bad school and that’s just couldn’t be further from the truth. A lot of our students are here just because, for whatever reason, it just didn’t work for them at that other school. And so for us to be able to provide them an opportunity to be successful, for us to provide them the opportunity to participate in programs that just weren’t accessible to them at their previous school, is really important,” states Smoot….
