I want to share something exciting from one of our states.

This week CarolinaCAN released the “Prove What’s Possible” campaign. On the eve of what could be a huge expansion of charter schools in North Carolina, our local team visited four of the highest-performing, gap-closing schools in the Tar Heel state and produced short documentaries on each of them.

They’re beautiful films that reconnect us to why we are doing this work.

But this campaign is about more than just inspiration. There’s a big conversation taking place across the country about charter quality. We think the focus needs to be on setting the bar high by learning from the best gap-closing schools and working to create more of them.

These four schools: Maureen Joy Charter School in East Durham, Sugar Creek Charter School in Charlotte, Henderson Collegiate in Henderson and KIPP Gaston College Preparatory in Gaston will astound you with their drive, commitment, passion and results. They not only show us what’s possible, they set the bar high for every new school to come.

I invite you to take a quick break from your work and watch the short videos and join the conversation. I promise, it will be the best three-minute break you take all day.
