While we have made great strides in recent years as a movement, we still have a lot to learn if we are to reach our goal of a high-quality school for every child, regardless of address.

That’s why we are looking forward to attending the National Alliance for Public Charter School’s annual conference this year in Las Vegas June 29-July 2 to share what we have learned and to learn from fellow education advocates from across the country. There is still time to register and we hope you will join us there.

We are proud that our local leaders will be sharing lessons learned in two sessions this year:

  1. The Power of Advocacy in the Movement for Great Schools
In this session, 50CAN Senior VP of States Vallay Varro will share what we have learned in identifying and supporting stellar local leaders in their effort to improve education. This panel will feature MarylandCAN Executive Director Jason Botel, MinnCAN Executive Director Daniel Sellers and RI-CAN Executive Director Christine Lopes.

  2. Small Enough to Lead: Championing School Choice in Rhode Island
In this session, RI-CAN Executive Director Christine Lopes will highlight the way charter school leaders and education advocates are partnering to provide every Rhode Island family with multiple school options so they can find the learning environment that best meets the needs of their kids.

We hope to see many of you there!
