Natalie Mack is a nationally recognized education leader, advocate, and subject matter expert in homeschooling—particularly at the intersection of military life, mobility, and education policy. With more than 23 years of lived and professional experience homeschooling five children to college and beyond, Natalie has become one of the most trusted voices advancing the needs of homeschool families across the United States and overseas.
She is the Founder and Executive Director of the Military Homeschoolers Association (MHA), a
501(c)(3) nonprofit serving military-connected homeschool families worldwide. Under her leadership, MHA provides trusted resources, advocacy, research-informed insights, and strategic partnerships to families navigating mobility and major education transitions. Findings from the organization’s first-of-its-kind survey of military homeschooling families are informing ongoing Department of Defense policy discussions.
In parallel, Natalie leads Homeschool Natalie Mack LLC, where she serves as a national
consultant, speaker, and writer supporting both military and civilian homeschool families,
education organizations, and military-adjacent institutions. Her work includes high school
planning and postsecondary pathways workshops and consultations. As a Council on Foreign Relations Ambassador and a Retro Report Ambassador, Natalie teaches Ethics and Civil Discourse and Model Diplomacy virtual homeschool classes. She also trains Education Services Specialists and military recruiters on effectively engaging the homeschool community across all service branches.
Natalie is a TEDx speaker, and the author of 101 Tips for Homeschoolers. Her TEDx talk, “The Impact of Homeschooling,” has earned 38,000+ views, amplifying her message on educational choice, parental agency, and long-term outcomes. A sought-after public voice, Natalie has been featured on CNN Homefront in discussion with Brianna Keilar, as well as Military.com, Stand Together, Military Families magazine and numerous national podcasts. She regularly speaks at state and national homeschool conferences and collaborates with nonprofits, education organizations, and military leaders to inform policy conversations and community-based solutions.
Natalie also coordinates opportunities for homeschool groups and state homeschool organizations to offer the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) Career Exploration Program (CEP), providing end-to-end coordination services that connect homeschool communities with the ASVAB CEP across the country.
She serves as the Military Community Outreach Coordinator for HSLDA. Natalie is also the Community Outreach Director for Empowered Home Educators, Inc and is a proud VELA Founder who brings an entrepreneurial, data-aware lens to systems change—bridging grassroots family experience with institutional decision-making.
