Alissa Jacques Saint-Pierre is the Navigation Partnerships Manager at the National School Choice Awareness Foundation (NSCAF), where she leads state-based partnerships serving more than 86,000 families annually. She is committed to creating student-centered systems that ensure young people are placed in schools where they feel safe, supported, and set up for success.
Over the past decade, Alissa has worked as a classroom teacher, policy researcher, adjunct instructor, and strategic communicator. She brings a unique, ground-level perspective on how families experience school choice. She began her career as an AmeriCorps Fellow and went on to teach elementary school at Democracy Prep Harlem. As a 2019 Urban Leaders Fellow in New Orleans, she co-authored legislation for restructuring oversight of underperforming charter schools. She holds a Master of Arts in Sociology of Education from Teachers College, Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts from New York University, where she graduated with University Honors.
In addition to her role at NSCAF, Alissa serves as Board Chair of the National Association of Black Microschool Leaders (NABML), as well as on the Junior Board of Advocates for Children of New York. She is also a 2025 Legal Education Opportunity (LEO) Fellow with the New York State Unified Court System.
Alissa lives in New York City with her husband, and four-year old pup.
