Andrea Cretu
Principal Consultant, Everwell Giving

Andrea is a Texas-based education and philanthropy leader with more than fifteen years of experience working at the intersection of K–12 systems, policy, and nonprofit investment. Her career spans classroom teaching, school and regional roles, and philanthropy, giving her a grounded understanding of how policy and funding decisions shape students’ lived experiences in large, diverse public education systems.

Andrea began her career as a middle school educator and later held roles at KIPP Houston, Teach Plus, and 3DE Schools, where she focused on strengthening teacher talent pipelines, elevating practitioner voice, and supporting innovative school models. In philanthropy, she has managed and advised multi-million-dollar education and workforce portfolios, bringing a rigorous, systems-oriented lens to strategy, due diligence, and long-term impact.

Andrea serves on the board of Texans Care for Children, supporting statewide policy and advocacy efforts on behalf of children and families. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and her Master of Public Affairs from the LBJ School of Public Affairs. Andrea lives in Houston with her husband, two young sons, and two doodles, and enjoys reading, playing mahjong, and exploring Houston’s culinary scene.
