The saying goes: If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. We know that education advocacy is a marathon, and we are thrilled to join the 50CAN network to go as far as we can together for kids.

Today we will bring our work together inside a new branch of 50CAN – affiliate organizations.

  • Partnership for Educational Justice, led by Alissa Bernstein
  • Virginia Excels, led by Eva Colen
  • Faith Leaders for Excellent Schools, led by Jenese Jones

Our three organizations have a shared vision: a future where every child in America has access to a high-quality school that educates them to their full potential.

At PEJ, we will pursue impact litigation and other legal action to help parents and families seek justice through the courts.

Through Virginia Excels, we will create a platform for communities to shape public education in Richmond and beyond.

And with Faith Leaders for Excellent Schools, we aim to eradicate educational inequity in Baltimore through school partnerships with faith-based entities, organizing and policy reform to ensure that all students achieve excellent outcomes.

We have a big year ahead of us and we will be sharing updates on our work in the coming weeks and months. We’re proud to work together with the 50CAN network and with one another to go further, together.

The 50CAN affiliates include executive directors Alissa Bernstein of PEJ, Eva Colen of Virginia Excels and Jenese Jones of Faith Leaders for Excellent Schools.
