RI-CAN’s School and District Report Cards are back with some new features.
Just like for our newly redesigned website and ‘State of Rhode Island Education’ report, we worked to make sure our report cards are delivered to you in an easy-to-use, easy-to-understand format.
Not only do this year’s report cards have a fresh new look, we’ve also expanded the data that we measure. Along with grading each school on student performance, subgroup performance, performance gains and the achievement gap, we now feature data on four-year cohort high school graduation rates.
Unfortunately, the report cards show that many of our schools are still struggling and we will need to work together to improve student performance across the board.
But the Ocean State is also home to some top performers. On the Top 10 lists, you’ll find schools that prove every day that there is great work happening across the state and we will not rest until all of our schools are performing at the highest levels.
But we can’t do the work ahead alone. So visit the report cards, take a look at our Top 10 lists and then share your thoughts with us on Twitter @RhodeIslandCAN and on Facebook.
With your help, every Rhode Island child can have access to a great public school. And great schools change everything.
